The Dawson Creek RCMP made three arrests and seized illicit items after being alerted by a concerned citizen about an illegal firearms sale.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The Dawson Creek RCMP made three arrests and seized illicit items after being alerted by a concerned citizen about an illegal firearms sale. 

The Dawson Creek detachment first received a report from concerned citizens on November 9th, showing two men exchanging a firearm for cash in a parking lot near 4th Street and Highway 2 in Dawson Creek.

After an investigation, police arrested 27-year-old Jayden Cobb and two others.

“It appeared an illicit transaction had occurred, and Jayden was the responsible party,” according to the RCMP. 

In their search for Cobb, police also seized a shotgun, Canadian and American currency, ammunition, and a large quantity of suspected cocaine.

Cobb reportedly has a criminal record for firearm possession violations, failing to comply with release orders and more.

“Jayden was found to be in violation of several court-imposed conditions, including breaching his house arrest curfew and being prohibited from possessing weapons,” says the RCMP. 

The department thanked the concerned members of the public who brought the suspicious activity to the department’s attention.
