UPDATE 1:50 p.m. November 12th: The stretch of Highway 97 referenced in this article is currently open to single-lane alternating traffic.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Highway 97 has been reopened on North Taylor Hill after a vehicle accident caused a closure around 12 p.m. on November 12th.

According to a post on social media, Dawson Road Maintenance responded to a motor vehicle accident on the North Taylor Hill. 

At 1:20 p.m., DriveBC announced that a 2.6-kilometer stretch of Highway 97 was closed in both directions near the incident, which is listed as having occurred between Birch Avenue and 238 Road. 

Single-lane alternating traffic eventually became available through the area, and as of 3:20 p.m., cameras showed that the road had been completely cleared and traffic had returned to normal.
