FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A new provincial poll shows that most British Columbians want the provincial carbon tax removed immediately.

“This new poll shows that Premier David Eby should scrap the carbon tax immediately,” says B.C. Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) Carson Binda.

Leger conducted the poll, which asked residents whether the provincial government should immediately remove the tax on gasoline and other fuels.

“Now is the perfect time for the premier to show British Columbians that the new government will take affordability seriously by scraping the B.C. carbon tax,” Binda said.

According to Binda, the province’s residents pay the highest taxes in the country on a litre of gasoline, and it is time for a change.

“Alberta’s government is challenging the carbon tax in federal courts and Eby should fight the feds in the courts too, if it tries to force British Columbians to pay a federal carbon tax.”
