(UPDATE) Power outage hits downtown Fort St. John

UPDATE November 7th: Power was restored throughout Fort St. John overnight on November 6th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A power outage is affecting several businesses in downtown Fort St. John.

According to BC Hydro, the outage began just after 6:00 p.m. November 6th, centered on an area near the corner of 97th Avenue and 98th Street.

Multiple businesses in the area, including Prevail Athletics, No Frills and Browns Social House are all without power as a result of the outage.

BC Hydro says 141 total customers are affected.

A crew has been assigned to the outage, with an estimated arrival time of 7:00 p.m. Energeticcity.ca will update this story with new information as it becomes available.
