FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Senior Flyers are still winless in their North Peace Hockey League (NPHL) 2024-25 season, but showed tremendous grit on Saturday, November 2nd, in Fox Creek, Alberta, where they faced the Fox Creek Knights.

The expansion Knights stormed out to a 4-0 first-period lead after a pair of goals by Tyler Mappin. A goal early in the second by Jordan Stead put Fox Creek ahead by a score of 5-0.

There, the Flyers, who had 15 shots in the second frame, found their stride.  Tyrell Fenton scored his first of the year with a minute left in the period, assisted by Chase Hipkiss and Aiden Craig-Steele.

Just over a minute after, Nolan Legace scored his first goal, assisted by Craig-Steele and Alex Nimmo, as the Knights led 5-2.

Christian Kenny’s second marker of the year gave the home team a half-dozen before the Flyers notched three goals about a minute apart, cutting the deficit to 6-5 midway through the third.

Fox Creek then pulled away, as Zachary Mott had a power play goal, and Koby Ziemmer had a shorthanded tally late in the third, as Fox Creek prevailed 9-5.
