The RCMP is warning trick-or-treaters of high-level THC cannabis items after a number of search warrants were conducted at several dispensaries.

NANAIMO, B.C. — The RCMP is warning trick-or-treaters of high-level THC cannabis items after a number of search warrants were conducted at several dispensaries.
According to an October 31st RCMP news release, search warrants were carried out at cannabis dispensaries, and thousands of counterfeit treats were seized.
During one of the searches, police found gummies at a store in Nanaimo containing over 100 times the amount of THC found in licensed dispensaries.

The RCMP says the high THC levels may pose significant health risks to children.
“At all times and especially at Halloween, parents need to be vigilant when checking their children’s candy,” explained the release.
The illicit items may be found in bags resembling chips, chocolate bars, and popular name-brand candies.
“Unfortunately, there have been several reported cases where gummies have been found mixed in with candy,” the release continued.
