ROSE PRAIRIE, B.C. — An oil and gas operation based out of Rose Prairie is facing a fine of more than $20,000 from WorkSafeBC due to a “repeated and high-risk” violation.

Kelt Exploration LNG runs a well site in the area. According to a report from WorkSafeBC, an inspector visited the site while a subcontractor was fabricating and installing piping into three new sour gas wells.

The report says the work involved activities like “welding, grinding, and cutting,” despite the potential presence of flammable gases.
