Freezing rain expected in the North Peace.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Environment Canada says the North and South Peace could see freezing rain Saturday night and into Sunday.

Current details:Â
Freezing rain is expected.
Where: B.C. Peace River District including Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Chetwynd.
When: Late tonight to early Sunday morning.
Hazards: Local ice accumulation of 2 to 4 mm is possible.
Remarks: A Pacific frontal system moving across the BC Interior is set to bring precipitation to the Peace River region. Periods of freezing rain mixed with snow are expected to begin late this evening near the Rockies and spread eastward overnight. The precipitation is anticipated to taper off by Sunday morning.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
