Grande Prairie experiences moderate earthquake

A 4.5 magnitude earthquake was reported by Earthquakes Canada on October 24th shortly after 3 p.m. south of Grande Prairie.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. –  A 4.5 magnitude earthquake was reported by Earthquakes Canada on October 24th shortly after 3 p.m. south of Grande Prairie.

The quake was mapped to 39 kilometres south of Grande Prairie and was ‘lightly felt’ in McBride, B.C.

Resident reports submitted to the government stated the quake was felt in Prince George, Fort St. John, Grande Prairie, and northwest of Edmonton.
