FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Two months into filling, BC Hydro’s Site C reservoir is almost filled, marking the next phase of the project.

According to Bob Gammer, Manager of Site C Community Relations, no issues have arisen, and the reservoir is now 90 per cent filled, with water levels currently over 40 metres deep.

“We’re on track to complete the reservoir filling this fall,” Gammer said.

Residents and visitors to the area are encouraged to keep a safe distance from the banks of the reservoir, as the land will be monitored for movement over the next several years.

The reservoir itself will be closed to boating for at least a year following the completion of filling.
