Investigators were led to believe the Fort Nelson residents were involved in a drug trafficking operation based in Northern British Columbia.

In January 2023, CFSEU-BC’s North District Team began a drug investigation while collaborating with Northern Rockies RCMP.

“This investigation led by CFSEU-BC, and the subsequent arrests, have made an impact on public safety by disrupting the violent activity associated with the drug trade and organized crime,” according to CFSEU-BC Media Relations Officer Sergeant Brenda Winpenny.

CFSEU-BC seized 1.5 kg of cocaine, 860 grams of methamphetamine, two lbs of marijuana, $1,460 in cash, nine firearms with ammunition, and more, after executing two search warrants on Fort Nelson residences.

CFSEU-BC thanked the Northern Rockies RCMP for their assistance in the investigation.

“The collaboration between agencies is essential in removing toxic drugs from our community here in Fort Nelson,” says Northern Rockies RCMP Corporal Kyle Petre.

Winpenny went on to say that the CFSEU-BC is remaining vigilant and working with other policing partners to target those involved in gang-related activities.

“Police in British Columbia are unified in our resolve to suppress, disrupt, and prevent groups who show such wanton disregard for the well-being of our citizens,” said Winpenny.
