PRRD provides update on Boundary Lake Water Station closure
The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has provided an update on the Boundary Lake Water Station, saying the closure will continue until replacement parts arrive.

GOODLOW, B.C. — The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has provided an update on the Boundary Lake Water Station, saying the closure will continue until replacement parts arrive in the coming months.
The station has been closed since August 12th, after concerns were raised about the station’s water quality following a routine inspection.
An on-site PRRD operator noticed the presence of an oily contaminant and immediately shut down the water station to determine its source.

PRRD staff have said the damage poses no threat to public safety, but it has impacted the water station’s treatment system.
Initial repairs have reportedly been completed, but more damage was discovered, and the district is currently waiting for the replacement parts to be shipped.
Membrane filters are required to complete the work at the station and are expected to arrive within four to six weeks.
The PRRD says the station will reopen once the replacement parts are installed.
