The City of Dawson Creek has issued a notice of its annual tax sale in a release on September 27th.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The City of Dawson Creek has issued a notice of its annual tax sale in a release on September 27th.
The Local Government Act requires all cities within the province to sell properties whose taxes have not been paid for three years.
The collector can sell a property for all outstanding penalties, taxes, and interest.

Potential buyers must purchase properties valued at under $10,000 dollars via cash, certified cheque, or bank draft payable to the City of Dawson Creek by 12:00 p.m. the same day.
Paying the balance will avoid the property being offered for sale again at 1:00 PM of the same day.
The city urges all prospective purchasers of property to “make all necessary inquiries to municipal and other government departments, and in the case of strata lots to the strata corporation, to determine the existence of any bylaws, restrictions, charges or other conditions, which may affect the value or suitability of the property.”
All bidders must provide photo identification, occupation, current contact information, social insurance number, or business numbers for a corporation.
