The BC Environmental Assessment Office is seeking public feedback to help determine if an environmental assessment is necessary
Public Comment Period on the proposed project is open until October 10, 2024
The public is invited to participate in the public comment period on the proposed Kobes Gas Plant, a natural gas processing facility approximately 30km southwest of Wonowon, B.C., and 75 kilometres northwest of Fort St. John. The proposed project does not meet the thresholds to automatically require an environmental assessment. However, because the project would produce more than 125,000 tonnes of greenhouse gasses per year, the proponent, Pacific Cambriam Energy Ltd, is required to notify the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO). The EAO is currently seeking public feedback to help determine whether an environmental assessment should nevertheless be required. The public comment period closes on October 10, 2024 at 11:59 PM PDT.
Visit: engage.eao.gov.bc.ca/Kobes-PN to learn more and provide your feedback.
Feedback is also accepted by post mail:
Kobes Gas Plant Project

After the public comment period closes, the EAO will prepare a report on its review and feedback received, to inform the decision on whether or not the project should require an environmental assessment.
