Gerwing completed an associate arts degree, majoring in English, and holds a management skills certificate. She also has communication, leadership development, facilitation and conflict resolution training.
Gerwing is the fourth person in the Peace River North riding to receive the coronation medal, joining Fort St. John residents Connie Surerus, Margaret Little, and Edward Stanford.
Earlier in September, Davies presented the medals to Surerus, Little and Stanford during the 2024 King Charles III Coronation Medal Presentation at the Fort St. John Royal Canadian Legion Branch.
The medals are awarded to individuals who have made a significant contribution to Canada, a province, territory, region, or community or who have made an achievement abroad that brings honour to the country.
