Fred Fest raises over $21,000

The Annual Fort St. John Fred Fest has announced it has raised over $21,000 for the Fort St. John Seniors Society Hall.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Annual Fort St. John Fred Fest has announced it has raised over $21,000 for the Fort St. John Seniors Hall.

In an interview with Moose FM, event organizer Fred McRae said the festival was “absolutely awesome,” with the musical bands putting their “best foot forward.”

“Fred Fest is a community-supported little music festival we have in the backyard,” said McRae.

The festival featured performances from Hailey Benedict, Kyle Mckearney, Darion Wray, and others.

The festival raised approximately $21,250 for the hall, from its live auction, donors, McRae’s family, and others. 

“Fred Fest is making a difference,” said McRae.

McRae encourages more people to donate to complete renovations at the hall.

Fred Fest ran on August 22nd, 23rd, and 25th.
