Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch alert for the North Peace region.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch alert for the North Peace region.

According to an alert posted just before 11 a.m., weather conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms to develop. These would be capable of producing heavy rain, large hail, and strong wind gusts.

Wind gusts caused by severe thunderstorms can throw loose objects around, overturn large vehicles, and break branches from trees.
