Wildfire near Chuchi Lake now Contained, confirms BC Wildfire Service
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) has updated the status of a wildfire reported earlier in August near the Chuchi Lake area.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) has updated the status of a wildfire reported earlier in August near the Chuchi Lake area.
A 15-hectare wildfire located a kilometre north of the lake approximately 161 kilometres drive from Mackenzie is now ‘under control,’ according to BCWS.
The wildfire was discovered on August 9th. BCWS says the suspected cause of the fire was believed to be a lightning strike.

There was another fire located seven kilometres south of the lake the lake that was put out on August 15th by the BCWS.
