While police were on route to the scene, they were told the suspect had fled. After arriving, officers determined that the suspect had stolen the vehicle associated with the keys they took and driven away.

Police patrolled the area but were unable to find the stolen vehicle or the suspect.

Later that day at 4:00 p.m., the detachment was contacted by officers with the RCMP detachment in Fox Creek, Alberta, saying the vehicle had been located and the suspect was in custody.

Police say they’re being held for court, and charges of robbery and breach of probation are being forwarded for approval.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident. Because the charges have yet to be approved, police haven’t revealed the identity of the suspect.
