FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Peace River North MLA Dan Davies will host Fort St. John’s ‘Rally for Better Healthcare’ to send a message regarding the province’s healthcare system.

The rally will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 10048 100 Ave, across from the North Peace Cultural Centre.

Davies will discuss the state of the healthcare system, the issues he has been made aware of, and what can be done.

Other speakers will include Fort St. John Mayor Lilia Hansen, Hudson’s Hope Mayor Travous Quibell, Northern Rockies Regional Municipality Mayor Rob Fraser, and other guests.

The MLA hopes the rally will get the attention of B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix, who he says has been avoiding him.

“I cannot predict what Minister Dix will do. I do know the message he is sending by not responding to not only my emails and phone calls, but residents that have written emails and phoned his office, he’s not responding,” said Davies.

Residents are encouraged to make their voices heard by attending the rally and bringing signs.

Davies also commented on the province’s recent actions in ending the COVID-19 health emergency, saying it is a step in the right direction, but more needs to be done.

“That is not going to solve the issue, this is a much, much bigger issue that we need to be focusing on,” said Davies.

Davies will host another healthcare rally in Fort Nelson on Monday at 4 p.m.
