Northern Health services impacted by Microsoft’s global cybersecurity outage
Microsoft’s global cybersecurity failure is impacting residents, districts, and organizations across the Peace River region.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Microsoft’s global cybersecurity failure is impacting residents, districts, and organizations across the Peace River region.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m. on July 19th, the District of Tumbler Ridge announced on Facebook that the global technology outage was impacting phone and internet lines at the town hall and community centre.
No updates are currently available on when those lines will return to regular service, but the district assures residents that updates will be provided as they become available.

Northern Health has also announced they have been affected by the outages.
In a Facebook announcement shortly after 8 a.m., the health authority explained the disruption is impacting networks and computers ‘across all systems.’
During the outage, Northern Health stated that contingency plans to maintain healthcare services and reduce patient care disruptions have been implemented across all impacted facilities.
Updates will be provided through social media and the Northern Health website.
