UPDATE: Alaska Highway fire near Fort Nelson now listed as ‘out’ by BCWS
A 1.5 hectare fire two kilometres west of the Alaska Highway near Fort Nelson is now listed as ‘out’, according to the BC Wildfire Service

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A 1.5 hectare fire two kilometres west of the Alaska Highway near Fort Nelson is now listed as ‘out’, according to the BC Wildfire Service
According to the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), the fire west of the motorway was in an area south of Kledo Creek and northeast of the Steamboat Mountain area.
The suspected cause of the fire was a lightning strike.
