DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Dawson Creek RCMP say the department had four occurrences with a woman from Alberta over three days.

“She kept us busy for a day or two,” said Dawson Creek RCMP Sergeant Shawn Peddle.

Beginning on Thursday, June 27th, Peddle alleges the women stole a vehicle in Manning, Alberta, with a dog, driving until the Dawson Creek area and into the ditch near 208th road.

The woman allegedly fled the scene, leaving the dog behind.

The RCMP arrived at the scene, found the dog, fed it, and returned it to its owner in Alberta.

The woman ended up at a well site where she activated Stars Air Ambulance for help.

The women laid out caution tape for the helicopter to land before the tape came loose. This posed a danger to the helicopter during the landing, causing the pilots to abandon the landing attempt and choose another place to land.

“It’s very taxing on our resources, it’s time we could spend all our resources somewhere else,” said Peddle.

The same female had reportedly broken into an oil compressor site earlier that day. She was arrested for mischief and later released.

The next day, Friday 28th at 1:00, RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious person believed to be the same woman with a horse that was deemed stolen.

The horse had an estimated value of $8000 and has been returned to its owner according to Peddle.

The woman in question was held at a bail hearing and released again.

On Sunday, June 30th, the woman allegedly wandered onto a Pouce Coupe property, where it was later determined she needed medical care and was transported to Dawson Creek Hospital.

RCMP says the woman will have her first court appearance on October 1st.
