FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A controversial veterinarian clinic in Fort St. John has officially lost its accreditation and is no longer allowed to practice veterinary medicine.

On June 13th, the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia announced that Gentle Pet Clinic’s accreditation had been cancelled, and the clinic is no longer allowed to offer or perform any services as a vet clinic.

On April 22nd, the college restricted Gentle Pet Clinic from performing medical procedures on animals, but the clinic continued to book and perform procedures, violating the restrictions.

This decision on the part of the clinic resulted in the possible death of at least one pet in the region due to a procedure performed 30 days after the clinic was issued with restrictions.

Previous clients of Gentle Pet Clinic are encouraged to call the facility and request a medical transfer.
