Last season, he netted nine goals and had 45 assists for 54 points during the North West Junior Hockey League (NWJHL) season, picking up the league’s award for top defenceman, during their run to the championship where they fell to the La Crete Lumber Barons.

It was the second straight year Moode received the honour, as his 77-point effort in the 2022-23 season helped the Huskies capture their third consecutive league championship.

The Sabres struggled on the ice last season, going 9-17-1 overall and being knocked out of the first round of the post season.
