Highway 97 bridge in Dawson Creek closed for maintenance

The bridge on Highway 97 over Rotary Lake in Dawson Creek is closed for maintenance and repairs for the rest of this week.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The bridge on Highway 97 over Rotary Lake in Dawson Creek is closed for maintenance and repairs for the rest of this week.

Argo Road Maintenance, the company responsible for maintaining South Peace highways, says the closure began at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The closure affects Highway 97 in both directions between Road 94 and 20th Street.

Access to businesses on the east side of the bridge is still available, and a detour for motorists has been set up along the Dangerous Goods Road.

According to DriveBC, the closure is expected to end at 5:00 p.m. Friday.
