DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Two people have been held in Dawson Creek RCMP custody for bail hearings after being arrested for a hit-and-run incident in the city.

According to Officer Shawn Peddle, the incident happened at roughly 6:15 a.m. Thursday, May 23rd.

Peddle says two men exited the Jeep and fled on foot. The Dawson Creek RCMP detachment called in police dog services from Fort St. John to track the two suspects, who were later arrested.

The road was temporarily reduced to single-lane alternating traffic as a result of the collision and the search, Peddle adds.

The two suspects remain in police custody pending a bail hearing.
