RCMP appeals for help in Taylor abduction investigation

Local police officers are turning to the public for help finding a suspect in an abduction attempt investigation.

TAYLOR, B.C. — Local police officers are turning to the public for help finding a suspect in an abduction attempt investigation.

Officers with the Fort St. John RCMP detachment say the incident happened in Taylor on May 6th at roughly 9:15 p.m. 

According to police, a male suspect driving a tan pickup truck offered a walking youth a ride, and when they declined, the suspect “made additional verbal attempts to get the individual into the vehicle.”

They then fled the scene in their truck towards Fort St. John.

According to police, the suspect is a balding caucasian man in his mid-40s with a bushy black and white beard. 

He’s described as weighing roughly 250 pounds and “having a shorter stature,” and his vehicle was reportedly a smaller, tan-coloured pickup truck with rust spots.

Officers are asking anyone with information that could help investigators or anyone who can report a possible sighting of the suspect or his vehicle to call the Fort St. John RCMP detachment at 250-787-8100.
