Obituary – Kathleen Thomsen

Kathleen “Kathy” Elizabeth Thomsen was a caring wife, mother, daughter, aunt, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world unexpectedly on January 30, 2024, at the age of 71.

Kathy was born in Grand Prairie, Alberta, to Jack and Irene Laye on October 25, 1952. She married Jon Thomsen in Dawson Creek in 1970 and together they had four children, eventually residing in Okanagan Falls for 44 years. Kathy leaves behind her husband, Jon, her children Sean (Erin), Justin (Brenda), Riah (Mike), Brodie (Samira), and her 10 grandchildren.

Kathy loved the sun and the simple things life had to offer. She adored her family and loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed a good chat and always had an open ear to all that reciprocated her interest in conversation. Kathy would always walk you out with a smile and a hug and wish you well. She did this till the very end.

Kathy’s warm smile and caring heart will be missed by all that knew her.
