FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A wildfire reported on May 10th in the Gundy Creek Road area west of Wonowon, is now listed as ‘under control.’
BCWS reported the wildfire on May 10th.
The suspected cause of the 12.51-hectare fire is believed to be human activity, according to BCWS.
Fire Information Officer Pedro Rolean-Delgado of the BCWS confirmed to Energeticcity.ca on Saturday morning that the fire’s proximity and fires in the Fort Nelson area contributed to the air quality experienced in Fort St. John on the weekend.

“The smoke would be contributing to the Air Quality advisory with all the fires in the area,” said Rolean-Delgado. “Wind is pushing smoke from the fires in Fort Nelson southeast.”
