DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Police say nobody was hurt in a Sunday morning high-speed chase near Dawson Creek involving an SUV, a white truck, a dirtbike and its rider, and a 12-gauge shotgun.

The incident reportedly happened at roughly 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Dawson Creek RCMP Constable Shawn Peddle says his team received “multiple calls about concurrent events.”

“At some point, we got a call that a car crashed into a ditch, and the car had rolled over a dirtbike,” Peddle said.

“A male was seen walking away from the dirtbike, on foot, and was picked up in a white truck.”

Meanwhile, Peddle says the woman driving the other car was picked up by a man in an SUV.

Officers say the truck then began chasing the SUV down Highway 2.

“At one point, we got a 911 call from a male, stating there was a male hanging out of one of those vehicles with a firearm, and apparently a shot was fired at a vehicle,” Peddle said.

“We believe it was the SUV-type vehicle that had a window blown out.”

No arrests were made, Peddle says, and no injuries were reported.

According to Peddle, the dirt bike, the car that rolled into the ditch, and the SUV were all reported stolen by their owners. He adds that the investigation remains ongoing.

Officers are asking anyone with dashcam footage of the incident or any information that can help investigators to call the Dawson Creek RCMP detachment at 250-784-3700.
