BC Wildfire Service staff say four initial attack crews, or about 20 firefighters, are currently at the scene battling back the blaze alongside helicopter crews.

A stretch of Highway 97 closed Wednesday due to the fire, but as of Thursday morning, the highway is now open between Stone Creek and Kurjata Subdivisions to single-lane alternating traffic guided by a pilot car.
