DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The mother of a missing man last seen in Dawson Creek has confirmed the human remains found in the city on the weekend are unrelated to her son.
Julie Hosack, mother of Cole Hosack, says the Dawson Creek RCMP detachment confirmed to her personally that the remains aren’t Cole’s.
“I made a post on Saturday stating that I had spoken to the RCMP, and they are not Cole’s remains,” Hosack says.
Hosack was reported missing on January 1st, 2024, after last being seen on New Year’s Eve at the Lonestar Night Club in Dawson Creek.
Hosack wasn’t a Dawson Creek resident and was supposed to report for work in Edmonton on January 5th.
Several searches for him have been organized since his disappearance, including some by his friends and family.
Dawson Creek RCMP Sergeant Shawn Peddle says work is being done to identify the remains.
