FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Below are the latest sentences handed out from the Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, and Chetwynd Provincial Courts from April 2nd to April 6th.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, April 3rd:

Luke Jordan Anderson (born 1987)

Anderson was found guilty of four counts of driving without a license, sixteen counts of breach of release order, four counts of willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer, three counts of mischief under $5,000, and three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. 

All the incidents happened between July and December of 2022 in Fort St. John and Rose Prairie, B.C.

Anderson was sentenced to jail time served and two 12-month probation orders.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, April 5th:

Darlene Esther Windsor (born 1992)

Windsor was found guilty of assault for an incident in Pouce Coupe, B.C., on September 23rd, 2023. Windsor was given a conditional discharge, a 12-month probation order and a $100 victim surcharge, which goes towards helping victims of a crime.

Chetwynd Provincial Court sentencing, April 4th:

Sheldon Leonard Braun (born 1970)

Braun was found guilty of driving while prohibited or with a suspended license for an incident in Chetwynd, B.C., on September 3rd, 2023. Braun was given a $500 fine, including a $75 victim surcharge.

Joshua Taylor Onyebuchi (born 1995)

Onyebuchi was sentenced for causing fear of injury or damage to a person or property for an incident in Chetwynd, B.C., on August 12th, 2023. 

Onyebuchi was sentenced to a 12-month recognizance after the allegation, where the accused was given conditions to follow. 

If they break the conditions laid out by the court, they’ll have to pay a $500 fine.

Nicky Morgan Paquette (born 1994)

Paquette was found guilty of driving while prohibited or with a suspended license for an incident in Chetwynd, B.C., on July 1st, 2023. Paquette was given a $500 fine, including a $75 victim surcharge.
