North Peace Community Foundation recruiting directors, committee members

The North Peace Community Foundation is recruiting volunteers for its board of directors and its community granting advisory committee.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The North Peace Community Foundation (NPCF) is recruiting volunteers for its board of directors and its community granting advisory committee.

The NPCF’s current board of directors will be selecting up to three board of director candidates and up to seven community granting advisory committee members, each for three-year terms.

According to a release from the NPCF, community members from the North Peace and Northern Rockies regions who are selected will contribute their skills and expertise in helping the foundation create valuable funding and development opportunities for community services and organizations throughout the regions.

Eligible candidates will be knowledgeable about the foundation’s mission, with a willingness to serve as advocates to the organizations networks and circles of influence. 

“We’re looking for collaborative leaders with a willingness to learn, who understand trust-based philanthropy, and are committed to the principles of truth and reconciliation, advancing the sustainable development goals, and have strong understanding of the principles of environmental, social and governance (ESG),” the release states.

Recent graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast and Online Journalism program, born and raised in Vancouver, Jordan’s passion for broadcast and journalism began with her dream of becoming a hockey journalist and play-by-play commentator.

During her schooling, Jordan discovered a deep passion for reporting on Indigenous issues, culture and affairs. Jordan is also passionate about connecting with and listening to stories from people from different walks of life and cultural backgrounds.

Last Spring, Jordan completed her first season providing play-by-play for Trinity Western University Women’s Hockey and gameday hosting for BCHL Coquitlam Express.

Jordan enjoys radio anchoring, creating and editing video content, and hopes to one day pursue a career in investigative journalism as well as producing documentaries.

When Jordan isn’t looking for the next great story to tell, she enjoys taking pictures, riding her bike, collecting her favourite rock and roll albums on vinyl, and, of course, cheering on her beloved Canucks. More by Jordan Prentice.
