DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The Dawson Creek mayor’s office launched the Inspiring the Future: Make Your Voice Heard survey last Friday to understand the needs of youth in the community.

“Youth are extremely important to me. They are the future of our city, and it’s important to hear from the youth themselves what they are needing before we just assume,” said Mayor Darcy Dober.

The survey, directed at youths aged between 6 and 19, takes less than a minute to complete, asking questions about the surveyor’s age, interests, and how they receive information in the city.

Dober aims to build relationships in the community by hosting round tables that provide services to youth in Dawson Creek. The group meets every few months to discuss upcoming events, services and ideas.

“We’re looking forward to seeing what type of answers we get and brainstorming how we can reach more youth in different ways in our community,” said Dober.
