Police investigation underway after report of shots fired at Fort St. John home

A Fort St. John RCMP investigation is underway after a house in the 9200 Block of 91st Street near Mathews Park was allegedly shot at on Saturday.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A Fort St. John RCMP investigation is underway after a house in the 9200 Block of 91st Street near Mathews Park was allegedly shot at on Saturday.

Police say witnesses told them that several loud bangs were heard around 3 a.m., and then, following the noise, a vehicle was seen speeding away from the area. According to the RCMP, it was too dark for witnesses to get a description of the vehicle.

When police arrived at the residence, they found damage to the front of the house that appeared to be bullet holes.

The detachment says the house was unoccupied when police were on the scene, as the resident was not home at the time of the alleged shooting.

The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information on this matter to call the Fort St John RCMP at (250) 787-8100.
