FORT ST. JOHN — The City of Fort St. John announced two grant opportunities on March 5th to support community growth.

The Business Facade Improvement and Event or Conference Sponsorship grants are currently available for local businesses and community organizations to apply for.

“We are committed to community development and economic vitality as we foster a vibrant, inclusive, and visually appealing Fort St. John,” said Mayor Lilia Hansen.

The Business Façade Improvement Program aims to enhance local businesses’ visual appeal with renovations or signage.

Eligible businesses will receive a one-time 50 per cent reimbursement grant, with a limit of $5,000 per building or project. Each side of the building is eligible for up to $5,000 for a maximum of $10,000 for corner buildings. The deadline for applications is April 30th, 2024.

The Event or Conference Sponsorship Grant is offering assistance up to $3,000 to support conferences or events hosted by groups or organizations in the community.

The grant is part of a commitment to bolster community pride, economic development and more. The proposed event must be within Fort St. John and begin within 365 days of the grant being awarded.
