Taylor waives fees for Arnie Isberg Memorial tournament

The District of Taylor has waived the ball diamond rental fees for the 13th Annual Arnie Isberg Memorial 1-Pitch Softball Charity Tournament.

TAYLOR, B.C. — The District of Taylor has waived the ball diamond rental fees for the 13th Annual Arnie Isberg Memorial 1-Pitch Softball Charity Tournament.

On February 26th, council voted to have the tournament exempt from paying $450 in rental fees.

Tournament organizer Jennifer McBride reached out to the district on February 9th, requesting fee forgiveness for this year.

The event was organized in memory of Arnie Isberg, who passed away from cancer in 2011.

Since the tournament began in 2012, over $178,000 has been raised for the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation’s cancer diagnostic and treatment fund.

Council has forgiven fees for the Arnie Isberg Memorial tournament from 2017 to 2023.

McBride thanked the district for their continued support in a Facebook post on Wednesday. 

Last year, the tournament raised over $14,000 for the cancer diagnostic and treatment fund.

The upcoming Arnie Isberg Memorial Tournament event is scheduled for June 14th to June 16th at the Taylor Baseball Fields.
