Greta Goddard elected as Hudson’s Hope councillor

Greta Goddard has been elected as the District of Hudson’s Hope’s newest councillor following Saturday’s by-election.

HUDSONS HOPE, B.C. — Greta Goddard has been elected as the District of Hudson’s Hope’s newest councillor following Saturday’s by-election. 

Chief Election Officer Becky Mercereau declared Goddard elected on Monday in a statement released on the district’s Facebook page.

According to the preliminary election results released on Saturday, Goddard received 93 total votes, while Stacey Kimberly trailed close behind with 90 votes.

Kimberly led the election after advanced voting on February 14th, receiving 39 votes compared to Goddard’s 36 votes. 

Goddard jumped ahead on the general voting day, receiving 57 votes compared to Kimberly’s 51 votes. 

Nicole Gillis followed behind Kimberly with 52 votes, Joseph King had 29, and Valerie Paice had 15.
