FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Mental Health and Substance Use Advisory Committee is hosting a walk for mental health at the Pomeroy walking track on Sunday.

Cindy Goerzen with the committee says they’re holding the walk to bring awareness to mental health and the importance of exercising.

“It’s been hard when dealing with COVID-19 the last couple of years just to get out,” Goerzen said.

The walk will take place at the Pomeroy Sport Centre walking track on February 25th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Goerzen says that during the event, the committee wants to share the work they conduct in the community with residents.

She says ideas for what the community needs in mental health and substance use supports can be brought to the committee, which will then take the ideas to the mental health board.
