General manager of Community Futures Peace Liard retires after 23 years
After 23 years of service, Sue Kenny is retiring from her role as general manager of Community Futures Peace Liard.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — After 23 years of service, Sue Kenny is retiring from her role as general manager of Community Futures Peace Liard (CFPL).
In a social media post, CFPL said Kenny joined the organization in 2001 and played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission.
CFPL is a non-profit organization that assists new businesses with loans, planning and counselling.

“It was great helping entrepreneurs blossom an idea into a business,” Kenny said.Â
“Seeing businesses that, in my time, are still going strong after 23 years. That’s how we make a difference.”
CFPL says it has achieved milestones and implemented various regional initiatives under Kenny’s leadership through her vision and tireless efforts. Her role has helped countless individuals realize their “entrepreneurial dreams.”
“Community Futures Peace Liard has been my life for the past 23 years, and I enjoyed every minute. It never felt like a job because I believed in what Community Futures did for our communities,” Kenny said.Â

“It gave me the opportunity to work with like-minded people who were passionate about making things better. I loved the CED part of our job or role. Great projects that I had the privilege of being a part of from the ground up.”
Naomi Larsen, CFPL Board Chair, said Kenny has also been a respected mentor, colleague and friend to those in the organization and throughout the region.
“Her collaborative spirit, empathy, and willingness to go above and beyond have left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to work alongside her,” Larsen said.
The board and staff of CFPL shared their heartfelt gratitude for Kenny’s years of service and wished her the best.
Following Kenny’s departure, the board will seek a new general manager, with further information to be released in the coming weeks.
