DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a pickup truck on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Sergeant Shawn Peddle with the Dawson Creek RCMP, the pickup truck driver was making a left-hand turn onto 8th Street around 4:30 p.m. when a pedestrian entered the intersection.
Peddle says the sun caught the driver’s eye, and he couldn’t see the pedestrian, who was knocked to the ground.
The driver stayed on the scene and helped the pedestrian before the ambulance arrived.
Peddle says the pedestrian was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The sergeant says the pickup truck driver was issued violation tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act but was unable to specify the violations or the amount of the fines.
