Taylor council delays grant writer contract decision, more info needed
Taylor council has decided to postpone awarding a contract for grant writer services, feeling more information is needed.

TAYLOR, B.C. — Taylor council has decided to postpone awarding a contract for grant writer services, feeling more information is needed.
At their meeting on February 5th, council requested that Lisa Ford, the deputy corporate officer, provide additional information after researching the Peace River Regional District’s grant writing program.
“The Peace River Regional District also has a grant writer program, so they just wanted me to have a deeper look into that and see what that offers and kind of bring more information back on that,” said Ford.
Discussions on the award will happen again at February 26th’s regular council meeting.
A February 5th report to council recommended the award be given to Urban Systems due to having the highest score in the evaluation criteria.
The report noted the company’s experience and knowledge in grant writing, having a high grant approval success rate and understanding and experience working in local communities.
“It’s helpful to our user groups or nonprofit user groups, it’s a service that they can use to obtain funding for their organizations,” said Ford.
