Fire in Dawson Creek causes extensive damage to self-storage unit business
The Dawson Creek Fire Department responded to a fire at a self-storage unit on Thursday night, which burned six to eight units.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The Dawson Creek Fire Department responded to a fire at a self-storage unit on Thursday night, which burned six to eight units.
Fire Chief Marcel Capelle says initially the three firefighters on shift were sent to respond to the fire at around 8:18 p.m. on February 1st.
When they arrived at Mini Mall Storage on 113th Avenue, firefighters found a large fire coming from the centre of the building.

It took 19 firefighters and four apparatus approximately three and a half hours to extinguish the blaze. According to Capelle, no injuries were reported.
Capelle says an investigator from Edmonton arrived in Dawson Creek on Monday to determine what happened.
According to firefighters on the scene, six to eight units were destroyed in the fire, while the rest of the structure received severe smoke damage.
