HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — The District of Hudson’s Hope is stepping into the 21st century and will begin live streaming their council meetings on Facebook, enhancing connectivity and allowing more eyes on municipal happenings and decisions.

“Through the hard work of our staff and some regional expertise, we will be able to connect with our community in real time and enhance our ability to entertain delegations and host meetings electronically between our council and others,” wrote Mayor Travous Quibell in his February ‘Mayor’s Corner’ in the town’s local newsletter.

“Further, in the spirit of bringing our council into the 21st century, we are adopting an electronic agenda management system, including a method to track voting on council resolutions,” he added, noting the district will begin using eScribe to publish their agendas, minutes, and related documents.

The change simplifies the creation of agendas and allows residents to more easily search for the information they’re looking for, a paperless solution which will enhance readability, explained Quibell.
