Extreme cold warning ended in Peace River region, snowfall warning issued for Pine Pass

Environment Canada’s extreme cold warning for the Peace region ended Monday morning, and a snowfall warning has been issued for the Pine Pass.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Environment Canada’s extreme cold warning for the Peace region ended Monday morning, and a snowfall warning has been issued for the Pine Pass.

After approximately five days since the warning was issued, Environment Canada says conditions are no longer expected to reach extreme cold warning criteria.

Environment Canada expects heavy snow in the Pine Pass, Williston, Bulkley Valley, Lakes District, McGregor, Munch Lake Park and Dease Lake.

Snow will begin over the Dease Lake and Muncho Lake Park regions and continue southward.

Snow will intensify by Monday afternoon, with the snow expected to ease by the middle of Tuesday.

Environment Canada says a total accumulation of ten to 15 centimetres is expected.

The organization says visibility may be suddenly reduced and asks drivers to adjust to the changing road conditions.
