FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Two minor vehicle incidents were reported to the Fort St. John RCMP on Tuesday, likely due to the cold weather and snowfall.

According to Constable Brett Urano, division media relations officer with the RCMP, a minor fender bender occurred Tuesday afternoon between two vehicles on the Alaska Highway and 100th Avenue.

Urano said it was a rear-end collision, and one driver was issued a violation ticket for following the other vehicle too closely.

No injuries were reported, and neither vehicle needed to be removed from the road.

The other vehicle incident occurred on the Alaska Highway near the Pink Mountain area at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Urano said it was a single-vehicle incident where a vehicle went off the road and rolled onto its side.

No injuries were reported, and the RCMP was called after the fact for insurance purposes.

“The BC RCMP would like to remind the public to always adjust their driving according to the conditions, and if they aren’t comfortable driving, make alternate arrangements,” Urano said.
