Fort St. John Provincial Court, January 2nd sentencing:

Waylen Lane Davis (born 1999)

Davis was found guilty of breach of undertaking and two counts of assault for incidents in Fort St. John in 2023. Davis was given jail time served, a 60-day conditional sentence and a 16-month probation order.

A conditional sentence is a sentence to be served within the community.

Fort St. John Provincial Court, January 3rd sentencing:

Terrance Daniel Cumming (born 1952)

Cumming was found guilty of two counts of failure to stop after an accident causing bodily harm and two counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm. The incident occurred in Dawson Creek on June 29th, 2020. 

Cumming was given fines totalling $4,400, including a victim surcharge, a 12-month conditional sentence and a 15-month prohibition from driving. A victim surcharge goes towards helping victims of a crime.

Fort St. John Provincial Court, January 5th sentencing:

Craig Franklin Tuharsky (born 1965)

Tuharsky was found guilty of refusing to comply with a demand made by a peace officer for an incident in Fort St. John on July 4th, 2022.

According to the Criminal Code of Canada, a peace officer can request testing for drugs or alcohol if they suspect a person has driven under the influence.

Tuharsky was fined $2,200, including a victim surcharge and a one-year prohibition from driving.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court, January 5th sentencing:

Raquelle Maggie Calliou (born 1994)

Calliou was found guilty of two counts of driving while prohibited or with a suspended licence, mischief of $5,000 or under, breach of undertaking and theft of $5,000 or under.

The offences occurred in Dawson Creek from November 2021 to February 2023.

Calliou was fined $1,150, including victim surcharges, one day in jail, jail time served and a one-year probation order.

Alexander David George Demontigny (born 1984)

Demontigny was found guilty of assault for an incident in Chetwynd on August 21st, 2022. Demontigny was given a 6-month probation order and a conditional discharge. 

A conditional discharge means the record won’t show a conviction if a person meets the conditions the judge sets.
