FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Pacific Northern Gas (PNG) is warning customers in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek of an increase in scam calls from people claiming to be the energy company.

PNG asks customers to remember that spoofing technology can make it appear like communication is coming from a legitimate organization when it is not.

The energy company says callers will claim to be a PNG representative while speaking aggressively and using high-pressure tactics, such as threatening service disconnection and asking for payment information on an amount owed.
